This Christmas was one for the books. The family gathered around the TV, full of turkey and way too much pie, to catch the Ravens vs. Texans game. Between my youngest figuring out his new drone and my wife calling Beyoncé “the real MVP,” it was a packed evening of football and entertainment.
First, let’s talk about the game. Lamar Jackson—what can I say? That 48-yard touchdown run was chef’s kiss perfection, and breaking Michael Vick’s record on Christmas Day? Legendary. Ravens -6.5 was probably the easiest bet of the season; Houston couldn’t get anything going offensively. I also had Lamar on a rushing yards prop, and it cashed in the first half. Betting doesn’t get smoother than that!
But then halftime hit, and Beyoncé lit up the screen. The kids were glued to her grand entrance on that white horse, and even I had to admit—the production was insane. The winter wonderland theme, the marching bands, Blue Ivy showing up on stage—it was like the Super Bowl came early. And hey, let’s not forget Netflix nailed it. No buffering, no glitches; they delivered a flawless stream to millions. Makes me wonder if live-streaming games will shake up how we approach betting odds down the line.
