CS vs. Valorant: Mechanics and Meta Differences for Competitive Play

I’m trying to analyze CS and Valorant from a technical perspective to decide which might be better for serious competitive play. CS ’s recoil and spray patterns are complex but predictable, making aim skill crucial, while Valorant mixes that up with agent abilities that impact aim and map control differently. CS maps rely on line-of-sight and bomb-site tactics, where timing and raw aim shine. But in Valorant, maps are built around ability synergies (like blocking vision with smokes or wall boosts) which means adapting to team compositions is critical.
For those who’ve played both at a high level, how do you manage the shift in game mechanics? Does Valorant’s meta variety keep it interesting or make it harder to stay consistent compared to CS?
