Every year, I tell myself, this is it, this is the year I remain calm about Eurovision. And yet, here I am, already watching national selections, analyzing staging concepts, and debating whether an avant-garde yodeling techno ballad can actually win.
Eurovision 2025 is shaping up to be another glorious mess of talent, theatrics, and questionable voting decisions. I’ve been hooked since I was a teenager.
There’s something fascinating about watching countries attempt to outdo each other in sheer absurdity, while also giving us genuinely brilliant music (mixed in with some… choices). Every year, someone emerges as the obvious favorite, only to be knocked down by an unexpected underdog, and I live for that level of unpredictability.
Last year, I got too invested in a the Netherlands song, and I was sooo angry that it got disqualified! Meanwhile, Code was really forgettable....
So, here’s my question: who are you backing this year? Any early favorites? And more importantly, which entry will inevitably cause international controversy before the show even airs? Because let’s be honest, it’s not Eurovision without at least one diplomatic incident.
