Magnus Carlsen signing with an esports team? That’s wild. Never thought I’d see the day chess gets the full-on esports treatment. But hey, with online platforms booming and big-money events like the Esports World Cup ($1.5M prize pool!), it kinda makes sense. Chess has been blowing up on Twitch and YouTube for years now. Carlsen joining Team Liquid just takes it to the next level. Wonder if this means more top GMs will follow? Either way, this is huge for chess. Never thought I'd say this, but… chess is officially an esport now.
