I've come across a new blackjack variant where you can double down on your first card as well as the usual second-card option. Naturally, the casino wouldn’t roll out a game that gives players an edge, so I assume there are trade-offs—possibly adjusted payouts or modified dealer rules to keep the house edge intact.
I’m curious if anyone has come across a basic strategy chart for this variation? Also, any data on the projected house edge? I’d like to run some simulations to see if this changes optimal play or if it’s just another gimmick designed to increase action without offering real player advantage. Anyone have insights?
