Poker is more about the fun than the money

I’ve always found poker fascinating, not just because of the potential for winning, but for the mental challenge it presents. I play live poker whenever I get the chance – it’s like a puzzle you have to piece together based on what others are doing and how they react. It’s not about the money for me. It’s more about the process.

One of my fondest memories was during a charity poker event I participated in last year. It was a small, friendly gathering to raise money for a local animal shelter. Sure, I walked away with a couple of hundred bucks, but what really mattered was how everyone was chatting, laughing, and just having a good time for a good cause.

I guess that’s what keeps me going back. The thrill of reading the table, making those little adjustments in strategy, and just enjoying the moment. Especially when it’s for something positive.

I know some people play poker for the high-stakes thrill, but for me, it’s always been about connection and friendly competition. Anyone else feel that way?
