Man, I’ve been hyped about this WVU basketball season—even with the ups and downs, I’m still rooting hard for the Mountaineers. Growing up in Seattle, you’d think I’d be all about Pac-12 teams, but my uncle went to West Virginia, and he’s the one who got me hooked. I remember visiting him when I was a kid—he took me to a game at the WVU Coliseum, and the energy was insane. Ever since, I’ve followed the WVU basketball schedule every year, even from across the country.
This Saturday’s game against Texas Tech is gonna be a tough one. The Red Raiders are sitting at 20-5, while WVU’s at 15-10 with a 6-8 conference record. But hey, never count the Mountaineers out—they’ve pulled off upsets before, and with Darian DeVries now leading the team as the new WVU basketball coach, I think we’re gonna see some solid improvements. I was curious when they announced DeVries, but his track record at Drake—six straight 20-win seasons—speaks for itself. Hopefully, he can bring that winning mindset to Morgantown and get the WVU men’s basketball schedule back on track.
If anyone's thinking about catching the game live, I checked out the WVU basketball tickets—starting at $76, which isn’t too bad considering it’s at United Supermarkets Arena in Lubbock. Wish I could make the trip, but I’ll be streaming it on ESPN+ while working on some coding projects (classic weekend for me).
So yeah, I’ve got high hopes for this one—maybe DeVries can rally the team and snag a big win to boost that conference record. Anyone else tuning in? What’s your take on WVU’s chances against Texas Tech?
