So I'm sat there at Greggs, sausage roll half in gob, thumb flying. Meant to send Darren the "ancient Greece game" evidence so he could back me up if mum ever asked. You know how it is. Instead—bam—straight to "Mum ". Same chat where she's still grey-ticked from Tuesday about "are you still doing that crypto thing we talked about".
22 Minutes. That's how long the £340 lasted. Not even a full episode of something. Donbet was proper warm too, Gates doing that thing where the multis stack early and you're thinking "this is the wallpaper run, this is Cleobetra March again". Then I did it. The thing. 40P to £2 in one click because "just one more to make it proper".
She replied "looks nice dear" with the thumbs up. The thumbs up. Now I'm in this limbo where she definitely knows, definitely doesn't know, or she's saving it for Sunday dinner. Probably all three.
Brent's already posted his +340 from same session, cleared it clean, probably bought something smug with it. Mine's just... Gone. Into the same hole as the EDF bill I finally cleared yesterday. That empty feeling when the direct debit finally hits and you're free, except now I'm already watching the hours till payday again and it's Saturday, City's on later so I'm locked out by my own stupid superstition.
