Crapless craps is an interesting variation of standard craps, but let's be clear—the odds are fundamentally worse. The house edge increases significantly due to the lack of immediate losses on 2, 3, and 12, yet the payout adjustments don’t compensate enough.
That being said, if you're insistent on playing crapless craps, there is a way to approach it logically. The best strategy is to minimize risk and maximize bets with the lowest house edge:
Anyone else play crapless craps? Any strategies that actually hold up long-term?
That being said, if you're insistent on playing crapless craps, there is a way to approach it logically. The best strategy is to minimize risk and maximize bets with the lowest house edge:
- Stick to Pass Line & Odds Bets – Pass Line is still decent (5.38% house edge in crapless craps), but the free odds bet remains the only true zero-house-edge bet. If you have bankroll flexibility, backing your Pass Line bet with maximum odds is the smartest move.
- Avoid Single Number Bets – Crapless craps forces you to roll a point on 2, 3, 11, or 12, and these are horrendous numbers to rely on. Avoid getting suckered into bets on these as they have terrible odds.
- Don’t Chase Prop Bets – Hardways and horn bets are always a terrible choice. They're flashy but have sky-high house edges. Stay disciplined.
- Lay Bets Can Work – Since you’re forced into a point, laying bets on extreme numbers like 2 or 12 (when available) can be a sharp move because of their probability to lose before hitting. However, this depends on table rules.
