Poker is often misunderstood as a game of chance, but anyone who has played high-stakes Texas Hold’em knows that strategy reigns supreme. I recently participated in an online tournament with a sizable buy-in—while the pressure was intense, it was ultimately the strategic decisions that determined success. Calculating odds, reading opponents’ patterns, and maintaining composure are essential. Luck may influence individual hands, but over the long run, skill prevails.
That said, managing bankroll is crucial. Many skilled players falter by overextending themselves, especially when chasing losses. Personally, I approach each session with a clear limit—discipline is just as important as strategy.
I’m curious—how do others approach high-stakes poker? Do you rely more on calculated risks or reading opponents' tells?
