Found that old 7Bit account from 2022 last night, 0.008 BTC just sitting there like past-me left me a birthday card with cash in it. Marisol asleep, 11:47 on the clock, and I'm actually grinning at the login screen like the universe finally threw me something. Twenty minutes later I'm staring at zero point zero and the same AC hum I didn't even notice when I started.
It's not even the money. It's the whiplash. That specific feeling of found money—like it doesn't count, like it's free, like you're just borrowing excitement from tomorrow—and how fast it becomes found regret. I do the math different with found money. 0.008 BTC at 67K peak wouldve been... Doesn't matter. Wasn't gonna sell. Was gonna spin it into the thing that fixes the week. Had my own friday — nothing cosmic, just 0.015 BTC at Ignition that started as "let's see if the BCH wallet's still synced" and ended green enough to cover the week. The difference was I walked to the kitchen, made actual food, let the mempool sit there without me. Thats not discipline thats just... Older wiring, maybe. The 2016 Betcoin exit still hums somewhere when I see "found" money

That 7Bit find though — past-you leaving cash — I get that proper. Had a Cleobetra account from April I'd forgotten, 340 quid withdrawal cleared in three days back when I was still telling Fiona "this is the last run." Found it again in June, same login, same "birthday card" feeling. Gone in forty minutes. Not even a bonus round worth screenshotting.
The AC humming is the detail that kills me.
