So, I went to a the Rideau Carleton Casino in Ottawa, and I decided to try blackjack since I’d heard it has good odds and is fairly easy to understand. I played at a “free bet” table where you get a free bet on certain low hands, but the dealer pushes on 22. I was nervous at first, but the dealer was so helpful—she explained the rules, when to hit or stay, and even helped me with my bets for almost two hours!
Here’s where it gets a little weird. I got insanely lucky, turning $140 into $3400!
After that, she said she was going on break and they switched dealers for a few games. Then they switched again, and someone mentioned she had “gone home.” A manager also came over and started standing behind the new dealer, just kind of watching.
Now I can’t shake the feeling that I might’ve gotten her in trouble for asking so many questions or because she was helping me out. Are dealers even allowed to help players like that? She wasn’t telling me what to bet, just explaining the game.
What do you think—did I mess something up, or is this just normal casino stuff? I hope she’s okay!
