Anyone else heading to the Ladbrokes Launceston Cup this year? February 26’s locked in my calendar—no way I’m missing the thrill of that 2400m Group 3 race at Launceston Racecourse. Kicks off at 10:30 AM and runs till 5:00 PM, so it’s a full day of racing, live music, and the Fashions on the Field comp. Always a good vibe with the public holiday—feels like half of Tassie shows up!
Last time I went, I grabbed a spot in the Ladbrokes Outdoor Lawn Enclosure with a few mates—$75 each for trackside seats and umbrellas, not bad at all. Thinking of leveling up this year, though. The Kreglinger Corporate Marquee sounds solid—three-course lunch, premium drinks, and live entertainment, but $330 a head’s a bit steep unless I can get a group of ten together for the $3,000 table deal. The SEN Punters Marquee’s a decent middle ground—$265 for an all-day grazing table, five-hour drinks, and exclusive betting facilities.
Props to Tasracing for pulling it all together each year—they’ve really stepped it up with the hospitality packages and partnerships. Heard they’ve teamed up with Clover Hill Wines for this year’s marquee events—should be top-notch.
So, who’s got a hot tip for this year’s race? Always keen to hear a good pick—had a close call last year with a long shot that nearly paid off!
