When did "additional verification" become the new pending period?

Still feeling the chase from Tuesday if I'm honest—pushed a rough session harder than I should've, and the worst part is I *knew* the shape of it while it was happening. Conditioned flinch, just like I told VillaRider last week. But that's not why I'm posting.

I've been watching something shift in the T&Cs, and I need to know if y'all are seeing it too. Used to be you'd deposit, you'd play, you'd hit withdraw, and *then* the friction started—KYC docs, source of funds, all that lovely theatre. Standard. Expected. Annoying but visible.

Now I'm seeing clauses that weren't there on Monday. "Processing may require additional verification" buried in the deposit flow, *before* you've even spun. Not after. Before. Date-stamped T&Cs I screenshot'd in March don't have it. Same book, same URL, new paragraph.

So here's my actual question: when did this become normal? The pre-deposit ambush instead of the post-win slow-walk. Because I remember 2016 BitFinex—*everyone* remembers where they were for that hack—but I also remember 2019, the rollover abuse wave, when books started writing themselves exit clauses in real-time and we just... Accepted it? Adjusted our expectations downward and kept depositing?

I'm not asking which book does it worst. I'm asking if you've caught them *adding* terms retroactively, and whether you screenshot everything now like I do, or whether I'm just running paranoid because my own run cooled off and I'm seeing the board clearer

Lol "additional verification" is just casino speak for "we're holding your money hostage while you stare at the ceiling at 3am"

Ngl Michelle that Tuesday bit hit different tho — "knew the shape of it while it was happening" is exactly the poison. Like your brain's watching from outside your body going "this is the bad timeline" and your hands are still clicking max bet

I had that with mBit last month, Heat were down 15 I was down 0.2 And I felt cosmically CONNECTED to both comebacks. Doubled both. Lost both. At least Miami got their redemption I guess

The verification drag is wild too — my book sat on a withdrawal for four days last week while some "senior team" looked at my selfie for the third time. Four days of "just one more session to bridge the gap" energy. You know how that goes

Still feeling that chase myself tbh — unexpected bill landed yesterday and suddenly payday breathing room feels like a trap. Like now I *could* if I wanted to. And Felicia's gonna ask how the weekend went and I'll say "quiet" and she'll know I mean "expensive"
