So I’ve been practicing the HiLo system (feeling fancy, right?
), but I’ve hit a bit of a head-scratcher, and I’m hoping someone here can shed some light.
Here’s the situation: Let’s say the count is +3, and the deviation chart says I should stay on a 12 against a dealer’s 2. But plot twist—my 12 is actually two 6s. According to basic strategy, I should split those 6s. Soooo, what’s the play here? Do I trust the deviation chart and stay, or should splits always take priority?
It’s got me wondering, are there times when staying would be better than splitting, even if splitting feels like the “default” move?
I don’t want to overthink it, but I also don’t want to mess up when I’m at the table.
Would love to hear how you handle this kind of thing! Let’s talk strategy
